Are you considering BOTOX® therapy? Fort McMurray residents who are uncomfortable with some of the effects of aging are more and more often using BOTOX® to address the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines. Here at Maxx Dental Group, we can provide this service for our patients, even though it’s not a dental treatment. BOTOX® treatments are proven to be effective, but keep in mind that results will vary for each patient. Your medical history will need to be reviewed prior to your initial injection. Our staff will provide the information you need and answer any questions you may have.
You’ll need a medical professional to administer these treatments, since BOTOX® is a prescription injection. BOTOX®, in fact, is a toxin produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum, which has the effect of stopping muscle and nerve function around areas with heavy wrinkles, relaxing the area and smoothing out the face. Many of our patients ask for BOTOX® treatments at the corners of their eyes to reduce “crow’s feet,” or on the forehead, where horizontal lines are apt to form as we age. We also commonly administer BOTOX® between the eyes, where vertical wrinkles often form, and on chin creases.
Our staff will first discuss with you the results you hope to achieve with your BOTOX® treatment. After taking a look at your facial muscles, we’ll use a micro-fine needle to inject BOTOX® into the muscle that is causing each wrinkle. You’ll feel a small sting, but nothing worse, which is why no anaesthetic is necessary. This fast and easy procedure will take 15 to 20 minutes, after which you can resume your normal daily activities, even going back to work after a lunchtime treatment if you choose. You may experience some bruising immediately after your treatment.
The face-smoothing effects of BOTOX® will last up to 4 months and will wear off gradually, so you don’t have to worry about appearing wrinkle-free one day and creased the next. We suggest BOTOX® treatments about 3 times per year, but this can be customized to meet your unique needs.
If you’re interested in trying BOTOX® therapy in Fort McMurray, or if you need to repeat a BOTOX® treatment, be sure to call Maxx Dental Group to discuss your needs. You can always count on our staff to professionally administer this safe treatment.
